Stale Bread and Honey: A Metaphor on the Therapeutic Alliance and Establishment of Trust after Trauma

In 2015 Lacy wrote a piece about the challenge of moving from a feeding tube to eating solid food. As in any case, healing can be a scary thing. Sometimes we become dependent on the feeding tubes that nurse us through recovery.  However, the time eventually comes for us to be brave and eat again on our own.  This challenge may seem daunting at the time but as move forward we find the strength that we forgot we had.
